Party Planning
When Jason and I were engaged, most of my free time was spent planning the "party of our lives" ... our wedding. I can't say I was like all girls who thought about their wedding day since they could remember. Even as we started dating, the wedding and what it would be like never really entered my mind. So after the proposal, I started thinking about our big day and went through a gazillion magazines and websites. It was very overwhelming at all the choices... where to start!
I did end up surprising myself and quickly figured out what I wanted. I managed to actually enjoy the planning process of the wedding and didn't get caught up in all the little details. I think for the most part even up to the day of the wedding I managed to stay calm with very little stress.
We were on a tight budget but I just couldn't bring myself to settle for a simple wedding that looked like we were on tight budget. We ended up doing a lot of things ourselves. We (and when I say we, it was my mom and I... Jason didn't help with a lot of the DIY projects, haha. He supervised... that was his way of helping. ) made the save the dates, the invitations, response cards and the favors. We even made my bouquet. We made and did as much as we could in order to save money. Even though it was more work to do everything ourselves, it was fun and it ensured that we were getting exactly what I wanted. It kept me very busy!
After the wedding (which turned out perfect!) I soon realized that all my free time was going into the wedding and I almost didn't know what to do with myself anymore. I had such a great time making everything for the wedding and now... ... well now I was bored, I didn't have all my fun projects. I started seriously thinking about going into wedding planning or some part of the business because I did enjoy it all so much. After some thought on how most brides are.. I chose maybe not exactly wedding planning....
Anyways, when it came time to start planning a party for my parents 25th anniversary, I was super excited to make the invites and all the fun things for their party. This past week I have been crazy busy trying to finish up the invites so I could get them in the mail this week. I successfully managed to get them finished, with time to spare. Jason was happy to see this get done because it meant I could now have time for him. I have a few more projects in mind... and Jason will just have to find something else to do while I keep busy with all my little projects for the party..... since he won't help me out! I just don't understand why... haha.
While some things are meant to be a surprise for the party, I won't be able to post all the photos until after the party... but the things i can share I will. :) So stay tuned!
