NEED. MORE. SPACE.
I need more hard drive space.... I've pretty much completely run out of room... and if Jason doesn't keep a firm grip on his (well MY) portable LaCie drive I may need to take that over soon! haha. Nah... I wouldn't do that.
I've attempted a few times to try and clean off my hard drives. My biggest problem, or source of what's filling my hard drives? Photos!! Jason gives me a hard time about this, esp when you consider that my 16K photos are all from the last 3 or 4 years and are just snap shots... these don't include all the photo's I've taken for school. So that averages to about 3-5 thousand photos taken each year.... and yes, many of them are ALMOST duplicates. I say almost because they aren't really duplicates, they are just very very similar photos. You know you have to take multiple photos of the same thing in order to get a good one right? Well, and so that's what I do. :) And before you know it, after photographing almost every little event in your life it adds up quickly.
On top of having my computer hard drive full, I have an external drive that is full. I would like to, and really should back everything up so I don't lose it all... but in order to do this I need another hard drive. I also want to back it all up because Jason is suppose to put the new OS on for me and I don't want to take that 1% chance of something going wrong and losing everything. So a backup would be a very good thing.
After seeing the cool new external drive my grandfather purchased with his new mac computer, I thought that's what I need! A Western Digital My Book! So that's when I began my quest to find a new hard drive. The 320gb was on sale at the time for about 90-100 bucks... not a bad deal I thought. After some searching on the web, I found a 500gb for around 119. Not bad either. Well, last weekend while out and about in Robinson, we stopped at Circuit city and they had a sale.... on hard drives! They had a 750gb for 150 bucks... BUT they also had a 1tb Maxtor drive for 180! What a great deal I thought! After much debate over the fact that while the 180 price tag on the 1tb Maxtor was a good deal (most 1tb hard drives I'd seen were going for around $250) I just wasn't crazy about the Maxtor drives... I prefer to get a WD My book. Jason eventually talked me out of buying either of them with the hopes that I'll be able to find an even better deal the day after thanksgiving.
I don't know if I can wait till thanksgiving.... that's like 2 months away! But I'm trying... very hard. Its hard to resist such great deals. Esp when I find THIS! A 1tb My book! Exactly what I wanted... for 169!! The problem? According to Circuit City's website it only has a USB connection... and I want a fire wire connection, no I need a fire wire connect. I don't have any more spots for a USB connection... so it definitely has to be a fire wire. Soo... that's what's holding me back at the moment...
So until thanksgiving.... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will be an awesome deal, and that nothing crashes in the meantime!
