Why you should plan ahead

So in keeping with the whole saving on gas and using public transportation to get around, when Jason told me I had to go to Kohl's to get him some new work pants I decided I'd hop on the trolley. There is a fair amount of planning required because this month I bought Jason the zone 2 pass and only got myself a zone 1. Zone 2 is where the mall is... so we had to meet up and trade passes. I also had to stop at home so I could get a bag to carry the stuff I was about to buy home. The bag I wanted to bring Jason had taken because he was suppose to give it to me when we exchanged passes but he forgot to because he stuffed it in his backpack. So I had to go on a hunt to find some decent bags. I picked up a few and tossed them in another backpack and then went on my way to get on the trolley. I made it down to the mall faster than I was expecting, which was good because I was getting a little impatient, haha. After having a quick dinner at the mall I walked over to Kohl's. I decided to get the shopping for Jason done and out of the way, so I was off to the men's department first. After getting his things, I headed over to the bed and bath department. I've been wanting to get new towels and accessories for the bathroom but just couldn't make up my mind on the colors and the collection. Now that we're in this new place and the bathroom currently has light blue walls, I figured well I can either continue this search for a new bathroom set and possibly never find something I like and that Jason will agree on and then paint the walls to match, or I can find something that I like that will go with the bathroom. I choose to go with the second option since it made the most sense. It also really narrowed down my options when it came time to find that shower curtain.
On my lunch break I looked on Kohl's website to see if I could find anything so I could be prepared for when I went. I did manage to find a shower curtain I liked but wasn't sure about the accessories and I did manage to find towels, but I figured that's something you have to choose in person. I was afraid that once I got to the store they wouldn't have that specific shower curtain in stock... but thankfully they did! I got the last one! I decided that the accessories seemed to bright to actually go with that shower curtain or the bathroom so I passed on those for now. I went in search for the towels and found a set I really liked but they only had 4 stock, so I moved on. I was able to find ones that I liked. They are super soft and nice and big! I was afraid that the ones in my price range were going to be those little towels, where I prefer what most places call bath sheets. Thankfully this was not the case in the ones I found. They only had 1 size and they were actually pretty big. I started stacking things in my cart and went back and forth between a few different colors. After selecting the towels and stacking them all in my cart I went on the rugs which matched really well considering they are a completely different brand. By this time my cart is nearly overflowing. I must have been too excited to really think about what I was buying and my situation because it wasn't until I got up to the register and piled it all up that I realized I have to somehow manage to get all this home.... by way of the trolley!!! So I stood there while the sales lady rung it all up and the bagged it all up trying to come up with a plan. I was pretty unsuccessful at that! I grabbed the bags and headed over to an empty checkout lane so I could rebag my items in the 3 little bags I brought. I was able to get all of Jason's stuff in the back pack and then the 2 rugs and toilet seat cover in the shoulder bag. I decided to leave all the towels in the 2 big kohl's bag thinking oh they aren't that heavy... just some towels! Well... they seem to get heavier and heavier the farther you have to walk! I finally did make it down to the trolley stop and the guy sitting there sort of chuckled and asked if there was some huge sale going on at kohl's. haha. I'm sure I looked ridiculous carrying all this stuff. I barely made it on the trolley with those 2 huge bags. Thankfully I was able to get off at a platform stop so the big double doors opened and I was able to walk out with ease.
Jason certainly chuckled when he saw the mound of stuff sitting on the floor when he got home... knowing that I had to carry all that. haha.
So next time I make a trip to Kohl's, I need to think about what I plan on buying and make sure I bring some bags big enough or make sure to bring Jason along to help carry them home!

Here is a sneak peek at what I got....

I plan on putting it all in the bathroom this weekend, so new bathroom pictures are coming soon!
