1 month and counting....

1 month from tomorrow we'll be moving all of our stuff out of our small 1 bedroom into a much much bigger 2 bedroom apartment. I am sooo excited!
When we first went to look at the apartment, I was really on the fence about it because the kitchen is pretty small and there is no central air. (I never thought I'd live somewhere with no central air!). After looking at it, Jason fell in love with it instantly and after a little talking we decided it was probably the best we were going to find for the area, size and price. We went ahead and filled out the applications even though I was still on the fence about it. In the meantime of waiting to hear back from the landlord, we did go and see a few other places. All of them were nice but after each one we still seemed to go back to the first one as being our best bet. We decided to wait a few days to hopefully hear we got the place before deciding to pay to apply to another apartment. Even after a couple days to think about things and go over things... I couldn't stop thinking about just how small the kitchen was in this apartment. Jason seemed to think it was bigger than I remembered and had some ideas of how we could create more space. So off to IKEA we went to check out some of their kitchens. We found a few things that we thought would work out nicely but were still unsure about some of the specifics. So on our way back we decided to see if we could take another quick look at the apartment. We got really lucky and the downstairs neighbor was around to let us in and it only took 2 seconds to see that it was a little bigger than I remembered and all of the area's we were hoping to be a certain way so we could add some space saving items in were what we wanted them to be. So I felt a hundred times better after that. So even though I can still make a list of things I wish we had for this new place (which I can easily do the same for our current place) I finally feel really good about this place and think we can make it work. The size, cost and location alone are enough to make us go. Its just then an added bonus that our neighbors seem really cool and there is a ton of storage space and we can finally have a separate living room/dining room/office! haha.
Now that we have the official go ahead, it'll be much easier to start planning and getting all this packing done. I told Jason over the weekend, its hard to pack knowing that we're moving... but not knowing where to. Its hard to pack something and know where its going to go in a new apartment because we didn't know what that new apartment was going to be. Now I know... so now I can plan. :)
We already have 1 helper in place for the move. My dad told me this past weekend that he'll be able to help. We've had a few people say its a possibility... so hopefully we can get a definite answer soon. I have a few trunk rentals that I want to get a quote for.... even though I'm pretty sure we're going with the Budget rental that's literally like 2 blocks from the place. I didn't realize this before, but when you rent a truck you have to pay for mileage... so when I was figuring out the cost, I mapped out the whole route... all under 10 miles! how great is that?? So its like 8 bucks for the mileage, haha.
So we're kickin it into high gear! Packing, packing and more packing!

Countdown to moving day: 1 month
