Sitting, Waiting, Wishing
Aside from being a great Jack Johnson song, it pretty much sums up how I've been feeling lately.
I am a planner and organizer. My mind is always working out what's coming up and what's ahead of me. Its something that seems to amaze most people, and even Jason has laughed at me many times because as he tells me about something he's just slightly pondered I've already worked that whole situation out in my mind and can give him another 5 alternatives or other ways to look at it. Sometimes this can be a very good thing because I'm prepared for things, its helped me do well at work and its managed our very hectic lives fairly well. I do have to say, I'm pretty proud when I get the open jaw look sometimes from people who are amazed when they find out certain details of our lives.
But like everything, there's a downside to it all. I can sometimes get a few steps ahead of myself and find myself feeling like I'm just waiting for the next thing, the next event, the next drama or whatever it is that life will throw our way. And as I watch many people around us living their lives I sometimes find myself wishing for other things that I feel I should have or places I should be in my life.
And so there becomes the catch 22.... on one hand there's the phrase "Life is what happens when your too busy planning" and on the other hand there is the phrase "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail". So somewhere in the middle is that perfect amount of planning ahead and preparing for all that life will throw at you, and managing to live your life to the fullest and not miss out in the Now, the current day.
So that's something you can think about later on... finding that fine line. Figuring out how to live your life to the fullest all the while planning for your success.
That's all I have for now. That all came from hearing that Jack Johnson song... "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing"... and that's all you get for now since we're still recovering from this dang cold and nothing else is really going on in our lives! I think we'll be over it by this weekend which will be good to finally have a weekend free of germs and sickness.
I'm off to finish up my work and hopefully get out in time to enjoy this gorgeous weather we're having... last I heard its 71 out there!! So go enjoy it while it lasts!
