Birthday Weekend
Last Thursday we made the quick decision to head to MI for the weekend Friday after work. The original plan was to go back to celebrate birthdays this coming weekend, but after hearing that Uncle Skip was going to be in town, we changed it to this past weekend. Thankfully I get out at 11 on Fridays, because I was able to go home and get everything packed up and ready to go.
The drive there went pretty well. We made really good timing, getting in at about 9:45pm. Saturday was an early morning starting with a nice breakfast in Gibraltar. It was great just hanging out with everyone all day and of course, celebrating Dad and Williams birthdays! Sunday we got to sleep in.. a little. I'm not sure what time we were woken up, but we had to get up to help make a big breakfast before William had to get to work. I tried a new recipe - Mini Fritta's - they turned out pretty good! Then it was back out to G&G Benyo's house to hang out some more. There was a Target break in there where I got some good deals and happened to run into 2 other family members! That was fun.
Sunday ended sort of early because my dad had to get up really early for work, so we were home by 9. Unfortunately we had to leave mid morning on Monday to get home so Jason could get some homework done at school.... but we at least got to hang out for a little while with mom before leaving. Jason drove the whole way home... and I slept most of it, but it still felt like a really long ride home for some reason!
But we're home now and back to the normal routine..... if that's what you call it.
AND .... Scrapbook Retreat countdown.... 9 days to go!!! YEA!
