I failed....
I decided that Saturday night we were going to have fajitas for dinner. As I was planning this and creating my grocery list, I decided it would be good to have some guacamole and I thought, I've seen this made... it doesn't look too hard... maybe I'll make my own! So I searched online and found a recipe that seemed easy and delish! I found the recipe from Rachael Ray, and I've had much success with many of her recipes in the past, so I felt good about trying this recipe. So Saturday night comes and I start making it all..... and something just didn't seem right when I cut into the avocados, but I continued anyways. When I got to the point where you were suppose to mash it all up to create the dip, the avocado's just seemed a little too hard to be able to mash up. To make a long story short, it didn't turn out at all in my opinion. I think the avocado's just weren't really ripe.... and that was the problem. I was completely bummed because I had been looking forward to having some fresh homemade guacamole for a while now. Jason and my mom seemed to like it and had it with their fajitas... so maybe it wasn't a complete failure.... but still not good. :)
I know now that I need to find a better way to determine if the avocados are ripe before trying this recipe again.
